Almond Oil: INCI: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil
This scentless oil is excellent at softening and revitalizing the skin. It is a very light
oil that absorbs quickly into the skin. It relieves itching and soreness by adding
moisture. Excellent for all skin types, sweet Almond oil is rich in proteins and contains
naturally occurring vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, D and E.
Aloe Vera Gel: INCI: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice
Aloe vera is a well-known healing and soothing agent for damaged or dry skin. It can be
used to soothe and heal burns, skin irritations, and raw open wounds. Liquid aloe vera can
be used straight on the skin.
Apricot Kernel Oil: INCI: Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil
High in minerals, carotene and vitamins A, B and E, apricot kernel oil has become a choice
ingredient in the skin care industry because of its nourishing, revitalizing, moisturizing
and healing properties. It is a very light hydrating oil, readily absorbed by the skin. It
is often found in anti-wrinkle formulations and is good for all skin types, and is
particularly suited for sensitive, inflamed, and dry skin.
Avocado Oil: INCI Name: Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil
Avocado Oil is a highly therapeutic oil rich in Vitamins A, B1, B2, D, E, panthothenic
acid (vitamin B5), protein and lecithin. Avocado oil is said to have healing and
regenerating qualities that helps delay the signs of aging skin because it is rich in
essential fatty acids. This nourishing oil is great for treating dry, dull, dehydrated
skin, eczema and psoriasis. It's a superb emollient that has the ability to penetrate the
upper layers of the skin making this oil a wonderful moisturizer best suited for dry skin
conditions.

Bentonite Clay:
Bentonite clay is a form of volcanic ash with a medium fine texture. It is primarily found
in Benton, Montana. Commonly used in make-up and masks to treat pimples and poison ivy.
Good for all skin types.
Borage Oil: INCI: Borago Officinalis
This is wonderful oil is known for its moisture retaining properties. It is an excellent
skin rejuvenator. It contains the highest content of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) among
commercially available vegetable oils. GLA’S are an important fatty acid that helps
maintain healthy skin and repairs damage done by the sun. In clinical trials GLA, when
used regularly on the skin, helps to soften fine lines and wrinkles making this an
excellent oil for mature skin.

Because it aids in tissue regeneration, calendula is primarily recognized for its ability
to treat and soothe wounds, scars, burns, scratches, varicose veins, eczema, inflammation

Carrot Seed Oil: INCI: Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Seed Oil
Carrot seed oil is rich in beta carotene, minerals and vitamins, especially vitamin A. It
rejuvenates and nourishes prematurely aging skin, improving its tone. Carrot seed oil is
good for skin that is dry and itchy.
Castor Oil: INCI: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil
Castor Oil is rich in fatty acids. It is very soothing to the skin. It acts as a
humectant, attracting moisture to the skin. When combined with other oils it makes a nice
emollient bar of soap with creamy lather. This is a good oil for hair preparations.
Chamomile Extract: INCI: Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract
Chamomile contains a natural hormone similar to thyroxin that helps strengthen the hair
and skin. Rich in vitamins A, C, F and B-complex, chamomile is one of the most common
traditional medicinal plants. It has proven anti-irritant and healing properties that may
aid conditions such as wounds, eczema, allergic reactions and other skin problems. It is
also considered anti-itching, extremely soothing to the skin, and hypoallergenic with the
ability to neutralize skin irritants.
Cocoa Butter: INCI: Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter
Cocoa butter is an excellent emollient and moisturizer. Because it stays on the surface of
the skin, it acts as a protective barrier that locks in moisture. It is said to be
beneficial in the treatment and prevention of stretch marks if applied daily. It is a
solid butter that melts at body temperature.
Virgin Coconut Cream Oil: INCI: Cocos Nucifera
A very light, non-greasy, penetrating oil that has anti-fungal properties and is high in
vitamin E. A natural emollient, coconut cream oil has moisturizing and antioxidant
characteristics that make it superb for delicate skin, and to rejuvenate dry, stressed and
aging skin. Lotus Blossom uses coconut cream oil that is extracted using the cold process
method, thereby conserving the functional components of the oil without adding solvents.
Cucumber Extract: INCI: Cucumber (Cucumis Sativus) Extract
A natural source for erepsin and proteolytic enzymes, antioxidants, calcium, potassium,
vitamins B1 and C - all of which are wonderful in treating skin eruptions, eczematic
freckles, pimples, black heads, wrinkles, and dryness. Cucumber is also known to soften,
soothe and tone the skin.

Emu Oil: INCI: Emu Oil
Emu oil is a non-comedogenic, non-irritating ingredient that has an extraordinary ability
to penetrate the skin. It aids in the relief of burns, sore joints, and muscle aches. This
oil reduces redness and the formation of wrinkles by restoring moisture to dry, irritated
skin. It is also used to reduce stretch marks, under-eye puffiness, and age spots. It is
good for a variety of skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, scarring, swelling,
contact dermatitis, acne inflammation, rheumatism, arthritis, bursitis, callused feet,
canker and cold sores, razor burns and other minor cuts and scratches, sunburn (prevents
blistering), diaper rash, and bug bites. Emu oil is anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial,
encourages healing, stimulates skin, hair and nail growth, is a natural sun block, and is
an excellent emollient and moisturizer.
Evening Primrose Oil: INCI: Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil
Evening primrose oil is rich in vitamins and minerals. It has a high content of linoleic
acid, and more importantly gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). It is easily absorbed, which allows
for the transport of these essential fatty acids (vitamin F) into the skin. It moisturizes
dry, devitalized skin without being occlusive, and can improve conditions like eczema,
psoriasis, scaly skin and dandruff. Because it is ideal for cell regeneration, evening
primrose is considered a rejuvenating, regenerating oil that can help prematurely aging
skin. Even a small amount is said to result in a healthier, more balanced complexion.

French green clay is wonderful for removing impurities from the skin. It is also efficient
at drawing oils from the skin, so it is best for those with an oily complexion.
French Pink Clay:
French pink clay, also called rose clay, is wonderful for the skin! It gently exfoliates
and softens dry skin. Pink clay is a mild clay that can be used everyday without drying
the skin.

Glycerin: INCI: Glycerin
Glycerin is a natural emollient and humectant derived from vegetable oils. It is a
valuable skin nourishing ingredient in quality soaps and lotions. Glycerin is a natural
product of saponification, often removed by commercial soap makers to be sold as a
valuable byproduct. Handmade soaps retain all their glycerin, making them more
moisturizing.
Grapeseed Oil: INCI: Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil
Rich in vitamins, minerals, polyunsaturated fatty acids and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA),
grapeseed oil is a light penetrating oil that is easily absorbed into the skin, leaving it
feeling smooth without being greasy. Mildly astringent, this oil is good for clearing acne
and drying oily skin.

Hazelnut Oil: INCI: Corylus Americana (Hazel) Seed Oil
Gentle and non-greasy, this lightweight oil is rich in vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and
proteins. It is easily absorbed and slightly astringent, making it a good facial toner
effective on acne. It is said to stimulate circulation, and is recommended for all skin
types.
Hemp Seed Oil: INCI: Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil
Hemp seed oil has skin softening properties, stimulates hair and nail growth, and over
time induces smooth, unblemished, satiny feeling skin. Hemp seed oil is particularly
effective against dry, scaled or cracked skin because it penetrates deep into the skin,
donating moisture and improving its elasticity and softness. On the skin’s surface, it
forms a thinner film than other oils, which helps skin retain its moisture more
effectively. It also has an excellent equilibrating effect on oily skin due to its high
percentage of vitamin E and omega-3 and omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, all of which
are very effective in the prevention of skin cell oxidation, thereby slowing the formation
of wrinkles and aging of the skin.

Jojoba Oil: INCI: Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil
Jojoba is a liquid wax derived from the jojoba bean. It is very similar to our own body
oil secretion known as sebum, making this oil a natural moisturizer and humectant that
deep cleanses blocked pores and promotes a healthy, glowing complexion. It is a greaseless
lubricant that forms a thin, breathable layer on the skin that controls evaporation while
attracting external moisture. This gives stressed cells a chance to repair and rebalance,
and to regulate the flow of natural sebum. Rich in vitamin E, jojoba oil is often added to
other oils as a natural preservative. Jojoba is great for mature, aging skin, reducing
wrinkles, and in hair treatments.

Kaolin Clay: INCI: Kaolin
Kaolin, also called china clay, is recommended for all skin types. It is one of the
mildest and purest of all clays, and because it doesn’t draw oils from the skin it can be
used on sensitive and dry skin.
Kukui Nut Oil: INCI: Aleurites Moluccana Seed Oil
This light Hawaiian oil is very high in oleic and linolenic acids, which are essential
fatty acids vital for the metabolism of healthy skin. Kukui nut oil is readily absorbed
into the skin and leaves it soft, conditioned and very moisturized without a greasy
finish. It is very beneficial for treating acne, eczema, psoriasis, sunburn, and chapped
skin. It is also wonderful for helping mature, aging skin.

Macadamia Nut Oil: INCI: Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil
This silky, highly nourishing oil is rich in palmitoleic acid, which promotes young
looking, soft and supple skin. Since the palmitoleic content of the skin decreases with
age, regular use of macadamia oil may help in the fight to prevent premature aging of the
skin. Macadamia oil is easily absorbed into the skin, and contains 80% monosaturated fatty
acids, proteins and vitamin E. This oil is highly emollient, giving cream formulas a
luxurious feel. It is suitable for all skin types, and is particularly soothing on
dry skin.
Mango Butter: INCI: Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter
Mango butter is a good emollient that can protect skin from the harmful effects of the
sun. It is said to prevent drying of the skin and formation of wrinkles by restoring
flexibility.
Meadowfoam Oil: INCI: Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil
Meadowfoam oil is extracted from an herbaceous winter annual plant native to the Pacific
Northwest area of the United States, developed to replace sperm whale oil in the 70's in
an effort to protect the species. Meadowfoam oil is said to moisturize the skin and hair
better than most other oils, and helps prevent moisture loss. In lip balms, it helps
revitalize dry, cracked lips and keeps them moist longer.

Olive Oil: INCI: Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil
Olive oil is known in Mediterranean countries as the oil that can heal inside and out.
Olive oil is the primary ingredient in all of our Body Bars because of its mild, skin
nourishing properties. It is rich in minerals, vitamins, proteins, essential fatty acids,
and in particular, alpha linolenic acid. Olive oil is a humectant, attracting moisture to
the skin while allowing it to breathe. It is very gentle, and can be used on sensitive
skin.

Palm Kernel Oil: INCI: Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil
Palm kernel oil is very similar to coconut oil in that it has a high percentage of lauric
acid, allowing it to produce a hard soap with a smooth texture that lathers well.

Rice Bran Oil: INCI: Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil
Rice bran oil contains the highest amount of all natural vitamin E in liquid form. It is
also rich in phytic and ferulic acids, which promote microfoliation (a gentle form of
exfoliation) while helping balance melanin (dark pigmentation) production. It also
contains proanthrocyanidins, which protect collagen and elastin to ensure suppleness of
the skin. Rice bran oil is particularly high in fatty acids. It is excellent for mature,
delicate or sensitive skin.
Rosehip Oil: INCI: Rosa Canina Fruit Oil
Rose hips have been used as a source of nutrition for centuries. They are a highly
recognized source of vitamin C, and also contain vitamins E, K, and the B vitamins
riboflavin and folate, making rosehip oil excellent for use on stretch marks, scar tissue
or problem skin types. Its small molecular structure allows immediate skin penetration and
healing, making it ideal to reduce damage caused by burns and the sun. Recent studies have
shown this oil to be a powerful skin cell regenerator with antioxidant properties that
helps prevent premature skin aging and soften wrinkles. It contains up to 35% linoleic
acid and 44% GLA, making it good for the treatment of eczema and psoriasis.

Safflower Oil: INCI: Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil

Sunflower Oil: INCI: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil
